Thomas River

This river is not for the claustrophobic. It is tight, with some strainers to avoid. Look out for the trees and branches; there are not many of them, but they should definitely be avoided.

MAP 22

There are a good couple of steep drops, the highest being about 4m. Expect to find some excellent playspots. The road at the put-in follows the river till about halfway, and it is possible to do only the first part of the trip, taking out where the river turns away from the road.
