Rivers of Namibia

Namibia is an arid country with two major deserts, the Namib and Kalahari. The Fish River, carving through the magnificent Fish River Canyon, drains the southern part of the country. It is dry most of the year, consisting of a series of pools, but once or twice a year even the desert receives rain and the Fish then provides excellent action in a surrealistic landscape. To the north, the Kunene River forms the border between Namibia and Angola, where it goes through major gorges.
